The 2010 AACGE-west meeting will continue the tradition of a highly interdisciplinary program with emphasis on an understanding of the fundamental nanoscale physics and chemistry that are central to the growth of crystals for a wide array of technologies. The beautiful Fallen Leaf Lake Lodge is an intimate venue with nearby hiking and boating. Communal dinners and single session format allow time for both formal and informal discussion. Sessions include: • Materials for Energy Applications • Low Dimensional Materials (films, dots, wires) • Biomineralization and Biomimetic Processes • Stress Evolution in Vapor and Liquid Phase Growth Papers in all areas of crystal growth and materials assembly welcome Partial List of Speakers and Session Chairs: • Delia Milliron Nanoparticle Synthesis and Superlattice Assembly • Yi Cui Nanowire Growth for Energy Applications
• Frances Ross In situ Nanowire Growth • David Robinson Materials for Energy Applications • Joshua Snyder Nanoporous Materials for Catalytic Applications • Daniel Koleske GaN Growth for Solid State Lighting • Wenguang Zhu Modeling of Dopants for Solar Energy Applications • Sarah Tolbert Self-organized Nanocrystalline Materials for Energy Applications • Jim De Yoreo Biomineralization • Charles Knight Ice crystallization • Wendy Shaw Protein-Mineral Interactions • John Harding Simulations of Adsorption Processes • David Kisailus Biomimetic Assembly • Ed Webb Stress Evolution
